I have been wanting to redo Noelle’s bedroom forever
and we finally did it! I partnered with Tarkett to rip up her awful old carpet and lay their awesome LVP down. When we started talking about this project I really wanted a room that was girly (she’s a diva) but one that could also grow with her. I have design ADD and could remodel our rooms yearly but I try to design for a few years so my husband doesn’t cry. You can tell in the pic below her room has never really been finished so this project was long overdue. I was really excited to use the ProGen flooring from Tarkett because 1) it’s waterproof and 2) it’s scratch resistant. I don’t know about you but that’s huge to this mom.
Ripping the carpet out was the worst part, probably because I am really impatient and did it myself….in a maxi dress…with 2 kids at home….while my husband was at work. Yeah I know I have issues. It also didn’t help that Noelle’s room in the basement (all of ours are actually our house has an odd layout) so the pad was glued to the cement. I seriously bathed in muscle rub cream for days after this.
Laying The Flooring
We started laying the floor at 11:00 one night and quickly learned we needed to do this well rested….only took us about 10 mistakes before we gave in. The night morning we started fresh and we had it finished in less than 2 hours. The floor is a floating floor which makes it a lot easier. The hardwood we have in the rest of our basement had to be glued down and was AWFUL to work with. This flooring clicked together so easily and we only had to use a utility knife to cut it! Yep I didn’t have to bring in my giant saw and make a huge mess.
The Finished Product
I am seriously OBSESSED with how Noelle’s room has turned out. We still have a few finishing touches to make and we have to build in her closet but it’s already to perfect. Most importantly she loves it! She spends hours at her desk drawing and reading, which is every moms dream. I can’t recommend the flooring enough ether. It’s so easy to clean! Thanks Tarkett for creating the perfect flooring solution!
