If you would have asked me at 21 what I wanted in life, I would have told you that I wanted to grow some roots out West on a big ranch. Maybe it was the fact that my entire teenage life my father talked about moving west or maybe it was my deep love for those mountain ranges. Oh those Rocky Mountains can make your heart skip a beat.
If you would have asked the people around me that same question they would have told you I was completely incapable of staying in one place for more than 6 months. They wouldn’t be wrong, I had a gypsy soul and loved exploring. Most would have assumed that I would always live my life like that.
Either way that wasn’t what happened.
Instead I met a boy one night while drinking PBR in my hometown and never left again. I have spent years turning our big old house into a home, raising babies, and letting my roots grow deep in the Northeast. I learned the art of canning and how getting your hands in the dirt heals the soul. I went from a girl who couldn’t sit still to a girl who loved to stay put. It’s an odd thing how that happens but man is it refreshing.
After blogging for a few years I decided to start Simply Stay Home: a lifestyle blog and a collection of all the things I love. Here you will find all sorts of things from gardening to DIY projects. This is my happy spot and I hope it becomes yours!
